NewsNightmare Of You, Homeless? After spending the last few months perfecting tunes for their sophomore record, Nightmare Of You declared their free-agency yesterday, announcing that they have parted ways with label EastWest. Confirming the split via their official MySpace page, NOY wrote, "As of today, April 17, 2007, Nightmare Of You and our respective Bevonshire Label have left our old home at EastWest and are free to explore the best options for the future of the band. Our forthcoming album will NOT be affiliated with Sire Records nor will it suffer from the poor distribution our debut endured." The Long Island band, which features emo veterans Brandon Reilly (the Movielife) and Samuel Siegler (Rival Schools, GlassJaw) remained optimistic about their recording future, going on to write "We are very lucky for this freedom to explore the 'right' options for us since most contractually obligated bands can end up crippled by a lack of both passion and resources." Nightmare Of You will continue to play the remainder of their confirmed dates including a Long Island homecoming gig May 26 with I Am The Avalanche. Tour Dates For Nightmare Of You: 04/20 - Oxford, OH - Miami University Shriver Center 04/21 - Buffalo, NY - Club Infinity 04/22 - Sayreville, NJ - Starland Ballroom 04/24 - Pittsburgh, PA - Point Park University 05/26 - Long Island, NY - Temple Beth AM Phil Spector trial: Day 31 The Phil Spector murder trial resumed in Los Angeles today (July 9) with charged testimony from a witness for the prosecution following a 10-day holiday break. Former New York City police officer Vincent Tannazzo took the stand and testified that he heard the music producer threaten women and use obscenities to describe how they deserved to die. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler had previously ruled that Tannazzo could not testify, but reversed his decision today, saying that his comments could be relevant to the case. Tannazzo testified that he heard Spector make obscene comments about women at a party thrown by comedian Joan Rivers in the mid-1990s, reports the Los Angeles Times. "They all deserve a bullet in their head," Tannazzo said Spector told him. The former police officer was working as a security guard when he heard the producer make a similar comment at another Rivers party seven years ago. Tanazzo testified that Spector said, "I ought to put a bullet in her head right now." Tannazzo added that he frisked Spector after a row between the producer and a woman, and found a handgun in Spector's belt. The prosecution is arguing that Spector has a pattern of threatening women, especially when drunk, and that the murder of actress Lana Clarkson was an extreme example of this pattern. Spector is accused of murdering Clarkson on February 3, 2003 at his Los Angeles mansion. The defence contends that the actress shot herself. The producer arrived in court this morning sporting a new brown hairdo, a switch from his previously blonde locks. |
